Comfort + wellness

Red-light
therapy.

A quiet, comfortable light-therapy option that can be part of an individualized wellness routine at IDPWC.

Designed for a calm visit

  • A low-stimulation, comfortable moment in a familiar centre setting.
  • Individual timing and positioning shaped around the dog and the visit.
  • A simple wellness option that can be discussed alongside pool time and other centre services.

Ask about red-light therapy. The team can help you decide how it fits alongside your dog’s pool or wellness visit.

Your first visit

New place. Clear plan. No pressure.

Every dog begins with a gentle introduction—because confidence and safety are built, not assumed.

  1. 01

    Choose your path

New recreational swimmers start with orientation. Dogs needing therapeutic care start with an assessment.

  2. 02

    Tell us about your dog

Share their goals, health history, comfort level and any veterinary guidance before you arrive.

  3. 03

    Meet the pool safely

We introduce the space, life jacket, ramps and house routine at your dog’s pace.

  4. 04

    Leave with a next step

You’ll know which session, frequency or at-home support makes sense from here.

Before pool time: no food for 2–3 hours, a fully toileted dog, and any requested veterinary information. Download the veterinary form. Check pet-insurance requirements.

A warmer, more professional pool room

Replace visual noise with calm, clean confidence.

The proposed direction removes curtains and corrosion-prone framing, then builds a durable wet-zone system around cleanable walls, composite guards, better light and organized equipment.

Proposed renovation concept showing the IDPWC pool room from the side, with white-framed clear panels, painted K9 Health Challenge signage and a hydrotherapist safely supporting a dogRenovation concept · 01
Guided care in the same pool room

Cobalt wet-zone walls, warm off-white above, transparent plexiglass-style panels and white gatework keep sightlines open.

Proposed renovation concept showing the same IDPWC pool room with white-framed clear panels, painted K9 Health Challenge signage, the existing simple ramp and organized equipmentRenovation concept · 02
Calm, open and easy to supervise

The simple pool ramp stays legible while clear white-framed surrounds and organized equipment reduce visual noise.

01

Dry, clean, durable

Specify complete wall and partition assemblies for chlorinated humidity—not decorative panels alone.

02

Bright without glare

Use diffused, high-colour-rendering natatorium lighting so dogs, people and photos all read clearly.

03

Everything has a home

Separate drying rails, wipe-clean storage and secured chemical storage to make the room feel calm and run better.

Proposed renovation concepts—not photographs of the current facility. Final materials, anchorage, fire performance, electrical work and costs require site measurement and qualified contractor review.

Animated lesson guide
Meet Scout“Why did I stop at the ramp?”

Because hesitation is information. A good introduction listens before it asks.

Scout’s Splash Notes

Learn your dog.
Help them thrive.

Short, entertaining lessons can make the website useful between visits—not just a place to buy something. Each health or behaviour lesson will name its author, reviewer and evidence level.

01Behaviour & psychology

Read the dog in front of you

Body language, arousal, stress signals and the small choices that help a dog feel safe enough to learn.

02Health & movement

Build a body for real life

Age-appropriate movement, recovery, fatigue and conditioning foundations—without turning general education into a diagnosis.

03Relationship & sport

Become a better team

How routines, attention, environment and human emotion can shape communication, confidence and performance.

04Pool-smart basics

Make water make sense

Pool preparation, flotation, safe entries, rest, after-swim care and what a thoughtful first session looks like.

Education, not diagnosis. Holistic topics will be evidence-aware and professionally reviewed. “Frequencies” will be translated into observable ideas such as arousal, stress cues, routines, social learning and human–dog co-regulation.

Individual plans, not unlimited use

K9 Health Challenge

Reward consistency, courage and learning—not the “fittest” dog.

Every dog can make progress. The first K9 Health Challenge model gives points for showing up, learning, safe practice and community kindness. Teams are scored by completion against their own goals, so seniors, puppies, athletes and dogs in recovery can all belong.

Future pre-/post-swim rinse care optional

We’re exploring a rinse option before and/or after swimming. It is not available to book yet. Your answer helps us plan and does not affect your swim request. No price or launch date is set.

We save these details to respond and plan the programs you selected; email info@indoordogpool.ca to access, correct or delete them. Registration does not create a membership, appointment, insurance application, course enrolment or service availability.

Good to know

Questions before the first splash?

We’d rather help you arrive confident than leave you guessing.

Is every appointment private?

Yes. Sessions are arranged one family at a time, so your dog does not need to interact with unfamiliar dogs. This can be especially helpful for fearful, reactive or easily overwhelmed dogs.

My dog has never swum. Where do we start?

Book an orientation swim. The team introduces your dog to the room, water, life jacket and ramps gradually. Even experienced swimmers complete orientation so everyone learns the same safe routine.

Recreational swim or therapy assessment?

Choose recreation for fun, confidence and general fitness. Start with a therapy assessment when the goal involves injury, surgery, arthritis, mobility loss or a veterinarian-led recovery plan.

What should my dog do before a swim?

Please withhold food for 2–3 hours before pool time and toilet your dog immediately before the visit. If they seem unwell or out of sorts, contact the centre before coming in.

What is the cancellation policy?

Please give the team as much notice as possible. Before booking or paying, ask which cancellation and rescheduling terms apply to your visit. Earlier agreed confirmed and prepaid terms remain protected. Contact info@indoordogpool.ca promptly about illness or an emergency; any exception needs review.

Which veterinary records should I send?

Before your first visit, please email your dog’s existing veterinary vaccination records or antibody titre results for review. This is a request for records, not a recommendation for additional vaccinations; your veterinarian can advise what your dog needs. Rabies vaccination must meet Ontario requirements, or be covered by a valid veterinary medical exemption.

Do you carry mobility and swim gear?

Yes. The retail area includes life jackets, Walkin’ Wheels, Help ’Em Up harnesses, FitPAWS products, drying coats, water toys and other mobility aids. Book ahead so the team can help with fit.
